Welcome to The Crossings, The Intersection of Faith + Art. We are happy to have you, and we are so glad you have chosen to submit your piece to our publication. Here are a few things to consider before you submit:

We believe each person has a unique voice and story to tell. As an editorial team, we recognize the importance of freedom in the creative process. However, we would like to offer a few guidelines to insure our goals as a publication align with you, the writer's, own goals.

The Crossings resides on a Christian campus; therefore, it’s important that the pieces we publish reflect the heart of God. This does not mean we shy away from difficult topics--in fact, we encourage the exploration of difficult topics. However, these topics need to be approached in a  respectful, charitable, inquisitive, and non-vulgar way.

Respectful

Pieces that are intentionally disrespectful or offensive to people, situations, religions, sexualities, genders, races, etc. will not be accepted.

Charitable

Assume the best of other’s intentions when writing and editing, and approach all situations with humility. Don’t assume other’s are trying to do you harm through their opinions or world-views.

Inquisitive

Write to better understand and to seek greater answers. The process of writing can teach us a lot about ourselves and others as we reflect on the worlds we build.

Non-Vulgar

Gratuitous offensive language, violence, shock-value content, explicit sexual content, drug use, or violence will not be accepted. Language that is intentionally harmful towards individual people or groups is not allowed.
